SYE helps reduce eye strain during long screen time with screen temperature and the 20-20-20 rule. Everything runs on your computer — no account, no cloud sync.

Screen Temperature

Shift your display toward warmer tones with presets or a manual slider — less blue light at night.

  • Day — 5000K
  • Evening — 3400K
  • Night — 0K (deepest warm tone, zero blue light)
  • Slider from 0K (Night) to 6500K (cool / neutral)
  • Toggle on or off from the Temp tab or menu bar
  • Native display warmth on Mac when available; overlay fallback otherwise
  • Reset display clears SYE’s effect and returns normal macOS settings

Eye Rest (20-20-20)

Regular reminders to look away from the screen — default every 20 minutes, for 20 seconds.

  • Interval: 5 min – 2 hours · Break length: 5 sec – 10 min
  • Full-screen break overlay on all monitors
  • Reminders before each break (1 min and 10 sec always on; 5 min and 30 sec optional)
  • Lecture / reading mode — gentler copy for classes and reading
  • Skip button — optional; off by default
  • Break now and Pause 30 min from the menu bar

Guided Eye Exercises

Six on-demand routines with per-step timers. Longer exercises use an audio chime when each step changes.

Quick start (Home)

One-tap modes for common situations. Pick a duration (up to 2 hours); SYE applies settings immediately and restores your previous setup when time is up.

  • Weekday classes — Day temperature + eye rest every 20 min
  • Late night cram — 0K night temperature + 30 min breaks + lecture mode
  • Active schedules always take priority over quick start

Schedules

Automate temperature and eye rest by day and time.

  • Up to 5 schedules (e.g. school hours, late-night study)
  • When a schedule runs, it controls SYE until that window ends
  • Skip today or tomorrow per schedule
  • Schedules override manual changes and quick start while active

Yes. Temperature applies to the whole display. Break reminders appear system-wide.
This build is Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) only. Intel Macs require a separate x64 build, which is not available yet.

The warmest preset — removes blue light for late-night use. Evening (3400K) is a milder shift.
