Privacy Policy
The short version
SYE Desktop does not sell your data, does not run ads, and does not require an account. Screen temperature, eye rest timers, and settings stay on your computer.
Who we are
SYE — Save Your Eyes is developed as a privacy-first digital wellbeing tool for Mac and Windows. Contact: syecontact.app@gmail.com.
What SYE Desktop collects
Nothing is sent to our servers. SYE Desktop does not use Supabase, cloud sync, analytics SDKs, or any backend for core features.
- Settings — stored locally on your device (screen temperature, eye rest schedule, active hours, exercise preferences).
- Screen temperature — applied locally via macOS system gamma or a transparent overlay on Windows.
- Eye rest timers & notifications — run entirely on-device. Reminder schedules are not transmitted anywhere.
- Eye exercises — run locally. Audio chimes use your system volume only.
SYE Desktop does not access your camera, microphone, contacts, location, photos, browsing history, or health data.
Notifications
Eye rest reminders may use macOS or Windows Notification Center and an on-screen banner. These are generated locally. You can deny notification permission — the on-screen banner still works in most cases.
Third-party services
SYE Desktop does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or cloud storage SDKs. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Sentry, or similar services.
If you download SYE from GitHub or visit this website, those platforms may collect standard access logs under their own privacy policies — that is outside the SYE app itself.
Data retention and deletion
All app data is stored on your computer. Uninstalling SYE Desktop removes the application; local settings are cleared when you delete the app and its support files. There is no remote account or profile to delete.
Children’s privacy
SYE Desktop is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone. If you believe a child has contacted us, email syecontact.app@gmail.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above. Continued use of SYE Desktop after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
